Tour Introduction

A short drive away from Zadar, in the middle of a sandy lagoon, the glorious town of Nin (Aenona) has been proudly standing for almost 3000 years as one of the oldest towns in the Mediterranean. Its exceptionally rich and troubled history dates back to the 9th century BC, when the Ilyrian tribe named Liburnians settled the area. As a result, today the town abounds in valuable cultural treasures that will captivate your mind.

Having enjoyed the attractions of Nin, we will head towards Pag – a narrow but long island with characteristic moon-like landscapes and pristine sea, small seaside villages and the view of the mighty Velebit mountain that perfectly frames the picture. During our voyage, we shall drop by to see the Roman Aqueduct (Talijanova Buža) and discover how the ancient Romans managed to carve a channel more than 1 km long in solid rock.

A short while later we will continue to Lun, a tiny village situated at the very tip of the island. Our point of interest is the Olive Garden of Lun, a place that is considered to be one of the oldest olive groves in the Mediterranean, with the average tree age of 1200 years. There, our hosts shall reward us with an educational olive oil tasting before we get pleasantly lost among more than 80.000 ancient wild-olive trees.

For the proper closure of this trip, we have scheduled some free time for your leisure, so you can enjoy a nice meal and refresh yourselves by swimming in the pristine Adriatic Sea.
