This tour takes us some 20 km south of Dubrovnik to the Konavle region – a unique geographical area of abundance. We start with Cavtat, a small, picturesque harbour town that is historically inseparable from Dubrovnik, as back in the 7th century the end of Cavtat meant the beginning of Dubrovnik. Re-established in the Middle Ages, today it stores charming examples of art and architecture interlaced with the local way of life. Walking along the seaside promenade of Cavtat, you can admire the works of Vlaho Bukovac, a cosmopolitan modern Croatian painter, whose former house has been turned into a museum. Tucked away from the main promenade, the house exhibits his works and the time in which they were made. Proceeding towards the northern end of the promenade, we encounter the Franciscan Monastery and the elaborate Račić Mausoleum situated on a steep hill at the tip of the Cavtat peninsula.

We conclude the tour deep in the hills on the other side of the valley, in a local family-owned tavern where we will have a delicious meal baked under a thick metal bell covered with hot coals, locally known as the Peka. Peka dish with some domestic wine and a nice view of the valley will round up this experience.
