Description

Often, unknowingly, we travel past very authentic experiences or interesting encounters, which is what happened to the writer of this program, despite him being a native. In today`s world the value of everything is expressed by means of money, but throughout history there were other ways of attributing value; for example, through the ability of women’s hands to do handiwork; an activity through which women socialized and sang, relaxed and expressed their suppressed creativity. It is ethnology that best reflects the life of the ordinary man, a life full of interesting cultural elements that passed through Dalmatia thanks to various historical circumstances. Hence the route of this itinerary winds along the coast, the islands and the hinterland, exploring their handicrafts, landscapes and gastronomy, thus illustrating the unbreakable bond between an ancient city and the secrets of its hinterland and islands – a bond embroidered by the hands of Dalmatian women. This program is intended for small groups and individuals, lovers of ethnology and intangible heritage who are eager to learn more about the life and survival of Dalmatian women throughout history. It should be emphasized that this program is highly customizable and can easily be incorporated into any trip arrangement.
