This tour is intended for those who appreciate a deeper insight into the continuance of civilization and into historical circumstances that have resulted in the present-day situation. Designed in a chronological order, this exploration tour encompasses visits to various sites and encounters with the local people, each of which represent a sentence in our storyline. Infused with authentic local gastronomy, this tour features beautiful sceneries and light educational activities.

Focusing exclusively on Central Dalmatia, we will take you deeper into its hinterland without wasting much time on travelling, thus allowing you to combine this tour with a boat cruise or any other itinerary that is to your liking…

In cooperation with:

Day 1

Trogir / Tour introduction & welcome dinner

Upon your arrival and check-in, we shall enjoy a nice introductory tour of the charming town of Trogir while walking towards a local konoba to enjoy an authentic welcome dinner. Trogir represents a great starting point for this tour, as it is considered to be one of the oldest towns on the Eastern Adriatic, emerged from a Greek emporion in the 3rd century BC. The rest of your evening is yours to spend at leisure. Overnight.

Split / Dalmatian hinterland – Terra incognita

Today we continue following the road to Dalmatian hinterland, an area largely unexplored and unfamiliar to travellers. Stopping along the way to see some Roman wheel ruts, the road will bring us to Trilj – a small and charming town situated on the river Cetina. There we will hang out with local archaeologists, learn about the Roman military training camp of Tilurium and visit its nicely presented exhibits. Before our return to Split, we will divert to the town of Sinj to witness its fabulous history and stunning presentation of the Alka tournament. Free evening in town.
