Trogir is an excellent example of the continuity of one city from antique times to the Middle Ages and through its Urbanism is easily readable the path of social and cultural development of the city. The antique orthogonal streetsystem beautified by fortifications, public and domestic buildings and especially the Romanesque churcharchitecture, is completed by an exceptional Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period.

Our next destination is just 15 minutes' drive from Trogir, on the beach of Kaštela Riviera or in a vineyard near the top of the mountain Kozjak*. There you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with wines made from Croatian indigenous sorts, among which is the most interesting Crljenak from Kaštela, the ancestor of the world famous Zinfandel. In the winemaker’s family, wine production has been going on for generations. Jakša and his family will present to you their chosen three wines with appropriate courses of fresh local food.

After gastronomic pleasures and saying goodbye to our host, we continue towards the other side of the Kaštela Bay, to the Franciscan church and monastery which originates from the age of humanism and the misgivings from the Ottomans (15th century). Besides the architecture, the monastery with its historical and cultural value, in the beautiful surroundings, constitutes the most valuable Gothic-Renaissance complex in Split. The garden, the church, the cloister, the various works of art, museum collection ... will definitely satisfy your taste.
