Guided tour: professional English speaking guide from start to finish

Split is not only the city, it is a living monument of the antique architecture intertwined with the early Christian, Byzantine and Medieval art. It is under the UNESCO protection since 1979.

The city was founded as a spacious Roman palace near metropolis Salona, and was built by a charismatic Roman Emperor Diocletian as his retirement residence.
It was also a place of pagan worship, with the Emperor Diocletian’s mausoleum, which was ironically transformed into one of the first cathedrals in the world – St. Duje, the patron of Split. The Imperial cellars, a Peristyle, picturesque streets and squares, the fruitmarket, the temples, sphinxes, medieval palaces, fish market, the vivid pulse of the city will embrace your perception. It’s a beautiful picture and a pleasant melody, engraved into the hearts of its citizens.

The ruins of an  Amphitheatre, a theatre, fortified walls, aqueducts, baths, temples, necropolis and basilicas, still bear witness to the size, prosperity and opulence of the ancient city which acording to some historic sources had 60 000 inhabitants living here.

We must highlight the site Manastirine and Episcopal centre as the most important cemeterial or early Christian complex in this part of Europe.

Along with sightseeing, you will experience guided olive oil tasting at the site and get familiarized with the production process in ancient and modern times. After relaxing time in Salona, we are going to lunch at Anton’s Mill, the cultural monument, perfect place to relax the mind and the body.

Refresh yourself in a cool river, knead bread, light a fire, taste the brandy, a domestic trout and a variety of fresh vegetables spicing it all up with a homemade wine in an authentic ambiance.
